ISLAMABAD-

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday cleared the day’s confusion by stating that the government had asked Chief of Army Staff to play a facilitative role in ending the political deadlock between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).

Director General ISPR Gen Asim Bajwa made the statement in a tweet at 6PM.

Earlier today, PM Nawaz Sharif and Interior Minister stated in the National Assembly that the army chief was asked to intervene in the political situation on demand of PTI and PAT.

The statement was strongly denied by PTI Chief Imran Khan and PAT Chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri.

Reacting to the statement by ISPR, Dr. Qadri said that ISPR has clarified who requested Pakistan Army for intervening and has made it crystal clear that  Nawaz Shareef lied on the floor of parliament on Friday.

PTI chief Imran commented that truth finally came out trough the ISPR and demanded from the PM to ask for forgiveness from the nation for lying to it.

He said that the premier was attempting to defame the army by making false statement.

Meanwhile, the official twitter account of PTI tweeted the following

  2. What other choice do you have ? Beggars can not be chosers. Pakistanis can not live like Cubans, or North Koreans. To break the bond of slavery needs a lot of sacrifices. I doubt Pakistanis are brave enough, or perhaps they lack the strong leadership. One hundred sheep will not be able to elect a sheep which will become lion. Stop moaning & groaning. Go home, watch the 'Natak' on TV.

  3. Long Live Armed Forces of Islamic Pakistan, for Nawaz Brothers & CO usa, eu, uk, ksa & hindoustan dont want nawaz leave chair! But Peoples of Islamic Pakistan are out in the streets for their Rights!!! Good Luck Ir Pakistan

  4. Nawaz Sharif asked Army Chief to mediate because these stubborn and selfish "leaders" were not ready to listen to any other mediator and were going to attack PM house. The army mediation was seeked since both wanted Army to take over after bloodshed. Better to play Mediator role then an Army Dictator. Both wanted Army to intervene and now blaming government that they invited army. Both are misleading their followers in their effort to destabilise the whole system.
