FPCCI sings MoU with Philippine CCI for business council

Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Zakaria Usman who is leader of FPCCI trade delegation to Manila, Philippine, signed an MoU with Philippine CCI for formation of Pakistan and Philippine Business Council.

The signing ceremony took place in a meeting held with Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Manila which was witnessed by members of FPCCI trade delegation Mian Mahmood Ahmad, Ismail Suttar, Syed Mazhar Ali vice presidents, Muhammad Amin Khatri, Philippine ambassador in Pakistan, the head of commercial section of Philippine for South Asia and a large number of members of Philippine CCI and Manila CCI.

In a statement, Zakria Usman said the formation of Pakistan Philippine Joint Business Council was the accomplishment of long desire of the business community of both the country.

The FPCCI president and his Philippines counterpart expressed their satisfaction that the Joint Business Council between both the countries will contribute flourishing the bilateral trade and open new avenues for joint ventures in various sectors.

In the meeting with the Philippine CCI and Manila CCI, the FPCCI president highlighted the investment potential and lucrative incentives of Pakistan for the foreign companies. He underscored the geographical advantages of Pakistan which was a gateway to CIS and Middle East.

In a discussion with Philippine trade bodies, Zakaria Usman said Pakistan attached great importance to enhance its relationship with Philippine as an important country of ASEAN regional block and stressed to further accelerate economic and trade relations among all the ASEAN countries. He further said the bilateral trade potential between Philippine and Pakistan was huge. The current level of bilateral trade needed to be further raised for enhanced economic cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized on people to people contact to exploit the potential for expansion in bilateral trade.
