The Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday ordered removal of all containers blocking key roads and thoroughfares in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
On an application filed by District Bar President Raja Nasir Mahmood, the bench observed free movement is the right of every citizen of Pakistan. The bench said that it had already issued directives in this regard but its orders are yet to be complied with.
The bench scolded deputy advocate general and ordered him to submit compliance report by this evening. All major roads in Islamabad were blocked earlier this month ahead of marches of PTI and PAT on the pretext of security concerns.
