A man shot dead two people including his wife for ‘honour’ on Sunday and fled away.
Police said that the culprit hailing from Saleh Bhitt area of Sukkur was suspicious about character of his wife.
The accused reportedly got angry when he saw his wife talking to a local villager. He gunned down his wife and the man and fled the scene.
The bodies were shifted to hospital and later handed over to heirs after medico-legal formalities. Police have registered a case against the murderer and started raids for his arrest.
Meanwhile, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working for rights of women are expressing grave concerns over the surge in honour killing incidents and have demanded that the authorities take concrete steps against the norm and punish the culprits.
