Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chairman Fazlur Rehman Sunday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should end its sit-in Islamabad’s Red Zone after the government’s decision to form Parliamentary Electoral Reforms Committee (PERC) and judicial commission.

Talking to Pakistan Television (PTV), the JUI-F chief said that the government has shown sincerity by expressing willingness to set up the commission and committee in which all parliamentary parties have representation.

Terming the government’s acceptance of PTI’s demands “a dignified agreement”, the JUI-F chief said that political issues are always resolved through dialogue and now the sit-in should end.

He reiterated that PTI’s demand for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation is illogical and unconstitutional. He said that Sharif is an elected representative of the Parliament and “no one has any authority to deny the public mandate.”

He said the Parliament has its own sanctity and a few members could not decide the fate of the entire House.

Replying to a question, he said JUI-F has held mammoth public gatherings in big cities of the country and the recent demonstrations in Peshawar were symbolic ones to prepare and activate party workers for a “big call”.
