Former president and All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Chairman General (r) Pervez Musharraf said Sunday that “Ali Baba and forty thieves” are now hiding under the umbrella of democracy to break all the records of “civilian dictatorship”.

Talking to APML leaders Dr Muhammad Amjad and Major General (r) Rashid Qureshi via telephone, Musharraf said that what the nation is witnessing now is democracy merely as presented by Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Zardari.

“Thousands of people coming to defend their rights have been locked in the federal capital by placing containers and the protesters including the women, elderly and children are deprived of food and water,” Musharraf lamented.

“The nation is now clearly seeing the actions of those who called me a dictator,” he said.

Musharraf claimed that real democracy flourished during his time when general and local bodies’ elections were conducted twice. He said the government that came into being during his tenure was the first in the country’s history to complete its term.

Musharraf advised the party activists to regularly provide clean drinking water and food to the participants of the ‘Inqilab’ march led by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri.

Amjad and Qureshi conveyed the message of solidarity from Musharraf to Qadri.

Addressing the ‘Inqilab’ march, Dr Amjad said that it is unjust that after killing of innocent civilians in ModelTown on June 17, an FIR of the incident was not being registered despite court’s orders.

“The government is the real terrorist as it ordered fire on innocent civilians,” Qureshi alleged, while condemning the placement of containers in Islamabad.

  1. Mushi what you said is the big joke of the year. You are talking about democracy, a man who come in to power thorough dictatorship. You are responsible for all the troubles our nation is facing today. You stand side by side with America on so called war on terror. You provide our army bases to them and they used them against another Muslim country. You called yourself Muslim shame on you Mushi. What you will answer in front of ALLAH after your death. Mushi now a days people are well aware of everything so you can not create any hoax among them because everyone knows that you are the real culprit..

    • Dear Khansahib, Let us be rational. When one is angry facts tend to go in the background. Who brought Musharraf into power.? It was almost a murderous act by the sitting PM of the day—-Nawaz. What choices had Musharraf on war against terror? The only superpower in the world was threatnig the security of Pakistan. What would you have done—played ball with OBL and Mullah Omar? National security always takes precedence. What would Nawaz have done? He had been earlier complaining to Clinton that Taliban did not listen to him! India was quite ready to provide Army bases to USA to attack the Taliban and Pakistan was about to be declared a terrorist state. As far your contention of offering army bases to attack another moslem country is concerned study history, there are examples in the past and present as i write this. The term "moslem " needs to be defined in the context rather than the text. Mushi is as good a moslem as anybody else. What he did was correct in the context. I agree with you let Allah be the judge but let us live in the context. Muaharraf,s doctrine is still being followed and we are all aware of the facts. International relations are never static but dynamic. I can recommend any number of books for you to read. Let us start with "islam and West" and Celssius 7/7
You dub Musharraf a dictator. Is it fact based or Value based or hypothesis?
