No job, no school!

As many as 120 students of the government primary school of village Nangar Ali Umrani, located on Dodai Road of Union Council-6, are compelled to get education under the shade of a tree in this hot season because owner of the school plot has thrown their benches, tables and chairs out for not giving him a job in the education department by the government.

The school has been locked by the owner and the education officials have failed to persuade him to let the education of children continue.

The owner of the plot, Rahib Ali Umrani, told reporters that he gave his plot for construction of a school on the promise that he would be provided a suitable job but despite passage of about 22 years he had been constantly kept on false promises. The government had distributed appointment letters among many other people, he added.

He said after being failed in his efforts to get a government service, he had no other option but to throw all school material out of the building and lock it on August 05 to force the authorities to resolve his issue.

He said now this school was running under a tree. He said five primary teachers were posted here. “I can’t pass life in this age of severe poverty without any job.”

The headmaster of the school, Inayatullah Pathan, and primary teacher, Abdul Fatah Mugheri, confirmed that four teachers along with headmaster were posted here to impart education to 120 male and female children. They said the school was located near main road and there was a lot of disturbance due to noise of passing vehicles.

They said they were now sitting under open sky in this current hot weather without any facility toilet and drinking water. They said they had informed higher education authorities of Larkana but so far they had taken no action. They demanded immediate resolution of the problem.
