Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and former information minister Qamar Zaman Kaira Saturday urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to withdraw the demand for Prime Minister NAwaz Sharif’s resignation, calling the demand “premature”. He also called upon the government to show some flexibility to end the deadlock.

Speaking to media personnel, Kaira said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan should not put the whole system to test. “There is a need to resolve this impasse within the ambit of Constitution,” he opined.

“PPP believes in democracy. We have rendered huge sacrifices for the sake of democracy,” he said.

It should be noted here that Khan has recommended the name of Kaira as a mediator for talks with the government.
