A treason case has been reportedly registered against Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit and Kashmiri leader Shabir Shah on the orders of Allahabad-UP Chief Judicial Magistrate.

According to details, a lawyer Sushil Kumar Mishra had petitioned that Basit had met Shah despite the Indian government’s orders to not meet him and thus both men were guilty of treason. The court approved the petition and ordered police to register the case. The next hearing of the case is scheduled on September 5 and the petitioner’s statement would be registered first.
