At least six members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed following a drone strike in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan.
Provincial police chief for Kunar province, Gen. Abdul Habib Syed Khel, confirmed that six Pakistani militants were killed following a drone strike by coalition forces.
He said the airstrike was carried out in Dangam district and a senior Pakistani Taliban commander was among those killed in the air raid.
Kunar is among the volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups are actively operating and frequently carry out insurgency activities.
This comes as at least two militants were killed following a NATO drone strike in Sarkano district of Kunar province on Monday night.
Local officials said Monday’s airstrike targeted a compound used by anti-government militant groups.
