As many as seven people including a PAF official were killed and six others injured in violence on Friday.
A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) official, Abubakar, 35, son of Muhammad Yaseen, was shot dead by unidentified armed men near Robi Cinema in Baldia Town. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) West Irfan Baloch said that unidentified armed bike riders attacked the official. Police said the firing incident took place at main Goats Pen within the limits of Malir City police station. As a result, two persons, Muhammad Javed, 30, son of Abdul Majeed, and Fateh Muhammad, aged 30, were killed and two others, Zahid, 35, son of Hameed, and Akbar, 32, injured. The bodies and the injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
Khaliq Ahmed, 40, was killed by unknown armed men in Orangi Town. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for a post-mortem examination.
Suiraj Uddin, 50, son of Islamuddin, was shot dead by unknown culprits at Sohrab Goth near Total Pump along Super Highway. The body was taken to ASH for an autopsy. Two people, Nasreen, aged 40, and her husband Mubark, 45, were killed when unknown armed men opened fire on them at Shah Faisal Muhallah in Orangi Town. The bodies were shifted to Ash for medico-legal formalities.
In another incident, Saeed Hussain, 31, son of Sher Badshah, was injured when unknown armed men opened fire on him near Metroville site area. He was brought to ASH for treatment.
Separately, Dawood, 18, son of Ibrahim, a resident of Orangi Town, was shot and injured by unidentified armed men near Urdu Chowk in Orangi Town. He was rushed to ASH for treatment.
Saqib, aged 30, son of Zaidi, a resident of Malir, was injured when unidentified armed men fired shot at him near Model Colony, Malir. He was rushed to JPMC for treatment.
Meanwhile, Ali Akbar, 40, son of Talib Khan, was shot and injured by unknown armed men in Sohrab Goth. He was shifted to ASH for treatment.
