Court order to book Sharifs for murder challenged in LHC

An application was filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday,  challenging the orders of a  local court for registration of First Information Report (FIR) against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and 21 others, a private news channel reported.

Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, filed an application in  LHC, stating that the order for registration of the murder case is unconstitutional.

The court admitted the plea and adjourned the case till Aug 25.

On August 16,  a session judge ordered to book PM Sharif, CM Sharif, former law minister Rana Sanaullah, Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, former principal secretary to CM Punjab Dr. Tauqeer Shah and 16 others on murder charges for killing at least 14 Pakistan Awami Tehreek workers on June 17 .

  1. Now well see. Is judiciary independent. It are they on MNS payroll. I wasn’t a supporter of PTI or pay until recently. I think this can be said for many others too. Shame in shareefs.
