Traders protest for end to protests

The city’s traders arranged a peaceful protest demonstration in front of Lahore Press Club on Wednesday to reject the long march and protests of Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
Activities of such parties have badly affected economy of the country and people are bearing the brunt, said the traders’ leaders including Dawood Alam Butt, Anjum Butt, Shahid Nazir, Younis Awan, Khawaja Shahid, Mian Attique.
They said that the country is heading towards economic empowerment and development under the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and any attempt to disrupt the democratic system would badly impact the situation.
They said all countrymen should understand their collective responsibility and get united for the cause of Pakistan.
“We all should work jointly for progress and prosperity of Pakistan irrespective of political affiliation,” said Muslim League Trade Wing General Secretary Shahid Nazir.
The traders said that business activities cannot continue in an environment of unrest and protests, therefore PTI and PAT should stop these protests and marches.
He said that the politics of PTI and PAT have badly affected employment opportunities, economic activities and foreign investment in the country.
