At least seven persons were killed and several others injured in several incidents of roof and walls collapses as heavy rain hit Peshawar late Thursday.
According to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zaheerul Islam, heavy rain followed by a wind storm lashed Peshawar and surrounding areas. Various areas of the district plunged into darkness as power supply was disrupted by the storm.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, who is participating in his party’s sit-in protest in Islamabad since last week, has announced Rs 300,000 for the heirs of those killed and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
