Shahbaz says those launching an attack on Islamabad want to destroy democracy
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that no patriotic and sane man will talk about attacking the Parliament, adding that despite an agreement by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s has taken another U-turn by talking about storming the Parliament.
“Parliament House is a national institution and must be respected. Those who have launched an attack on Islamabad want to destroy democracy in the country,” said Sharif while talking to a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) delegation in Lahore on Wednesday.
Sharif said that Pak Army has launched a “historic operation” to root out terrorism from the country and is achieving “tremendous success”. He said that successful operation of armed forces against terrorists at Samungali and Khalid Airbase Quetta is highly commendable and the brave officers and soldiers of Pak Army have thwarted the nefarious designs of the terrorists.
The CM said that those resorting to protest politics have forgotten the problems and hardships of the distressed people of North Waziristan. He said that the displaced people of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa who are rendering a sacrifice for securing the future of the country have been ignored by the rulers and politicians of KP.
Sharif said that Punjab government is extending all out help and assistance to the displaced persons in their moment of trial and will continue to make every effort for their rehabilitation. He said that the protesting elements should know that even the last moment to change the sorrows of the nation into happiness is precious.
