ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI
STAFF REPORT
The lawyers of Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday observed strike against undemocratic and unconstitutional demands of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
Lawyers boycotted the court proceedings on the call of Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) and Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and raised slogans of “lawyers do not support unconstitutional demands”. They also raised black flags during the protest against sit-ins.
Condemning PTI chief Imran Khan’s call for civil disobedience, the bar members urged him to take back the call, as it was against the interest of the country. Thousands of cases remained pending before the IHC due to boycott of the proceedings.
