Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashhood said on Wednesday that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led government would not let anyone mock the Constitution as it is sacred for the country.
Talking to a private television channel, Mashhood said that the government has so far avoided violence and the use of power.
“PML-N workers are also angry over the current situation but we control them and ask them not to be violent,” he said.
The minister said that ultimately talks would resolve the crisis.
Mashhood said that the government still wants to talk with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) but they are not reciprocating.
“Both parties want bloodshed but the government is acting wisely to avoid it,” he said.
