At least eight people, including three police personnel, lost their lives and another one injured in fresh spat of violence on Tuesday.
An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) and a police constable were gunned down by unidentified armed men near Dawood Chowrangi, Landhi. According to rescue sources, the bodies, aged 35 and 40, were shifted to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center (JPMC) for an autopsy.
In the same area, an unknown man, aged 30, was shot dead by unknown armed men Near Kala Pani, Landhi. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities. In a separate incident, a police constable, Musharaf Hassan, 53, son of Jaffar Hussain, committed suicide by hanging him his residence in Jaffar-e-Tayyar, Malir. The body was shifted to JPMC for an autopsy.
In another incident, a police personnel, Tahir, aged 30, was shot dead by unknown armed men near Baldia, Shanti Nagar. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal affairs.
Separately, a bullet-riddled body of an unknown person, 30, was recovered from outskirt area of Landhi, 36 B near Noorani Kabab House, and shifted him to JPMC for an autopsy. While, a teenager, Ayat Khan, 18, son of Zahir Shah, was injured over offering resistance during robbery in Manghopir area. He was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.
Meanwhile, in two separate traffic accidents, at least two people died. Adil Abbas, 30, son of Hussain Abbas, died when a vehicle hit him on Nursery Flyover. The body was shifted to JPMC.
In another road accident near Fine House Shahra-e-Faisal, Abid, 20, son of Qadeer, resident of Korangi, was injured and died while being taken to hospital. The body was shifted to JPMC.
