MWM, PML-Q, PAT, SIC, PST to stage sit-ins across Sindh, Punjab for PM’s resignation

Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) and its allied parties including Pakistan Muslim League–Quaid (PML-Q), Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) and Pakistan Sunni Tehreek (PST) Monday announced to stage sit-ins across Sindh and Punjab from Magrib prayers and vowed to continue the same until resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Speaking at a press conference at Karachi Press Club, MWM leader Ali Hussain Naqvi said that they were staging sit-ins in solidarity with thousands of people present in Islamabad to de-seat Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said that sit-in in Karachi would be staged at Numaish Chowrangi from today and all allied parties would participate in it and it would continue till the end of the government.
Naqvi said that in case Tahirul Qadri’s deadline for Sharif’s resignation expires, the MWM would start its country-wide sit-ins.
In the first phase, all allied parties will stage sit-ins and block important highways and railway stations in Sindh and Punjab and in the second phase, sit-ins will be staged in Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhua.
The other parties and their leaders who flanked MWM included PAT leader Mehmood Memon, PML-Q leader Samar Mehdi, SIC’s Azhar Raza and PST’s Matloob Awan.
