Qadri ‘pardons’ policeman his workers thought was ‘Gullu Butt

An armed man caught by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) supporters during party Chairman Tahirul Qadri’s address in Islamabad on Saturday has been identified as police commando Aqeel Qureshi, a guard of Federal Minister Riaz Pirzada.

According to details, PAT workers collared a suspected man in the gathering and found a pistol from his possession. The workers alleged that the man was an assassin and intended to target someone in the gathering.

Later, on Qadri’s directives the workers took the man to the stage, where the PAT chief enquired about him and embraced him, directing all his workers not to cause any harm to him.

The armed man told Qadri that he was heading to his house when he was apprehended by the PAT workers.

Taking the pistol from the man, Qadri hugged him and announced that he has forgiven ‘Gullu Butt’ and his supporters should let him pass.
