Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday called on his party supporters to participate in a Civil Disobedience Movement and stop paying their taxes and utility bills if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif does not step down from his office ‘within 48 hours’.

The announcement, which Khan said was the “biggest speech” of his 18-year-old political career, was made amidst cheers and slogans of thousands of his charged supporters which had gathered at the Azadi March venue.

The PTI chief said that he could have asked his supporters to storm the Parliament and Prime Minister’s House but then he was apprehensive about the “security of his workers and policemen deployed for security of the Red Zone”.

Reiterating his allegations against Nawaz Sharif and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Khan said that for the next two days, Azadi marchers would regularly gather at the protest site at 7pm and demand resignation from the premier.

“Please make my life easier and tender a resignation. I am giving you only two days to resign after which i will not be able to stop this tsunami from entering the Parliament House and drag you out,” Khan said, addressing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Khan repeatedly appealed to his supporters to not give up and stay for the sit-in till their demands were met.

Despite repeatedly going against his word, he assured the masses that he would not abandon them and would stay at the sit-in site “no matter what”.

Earlier, thousands of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters marched towards the Red Zone but they were soon brought into control by the party leadership.

  1. Inciting people to take the law in their hands is anarchy.Language of a street thug, who claims to be 'foreign' educated but is nothing but a street thug.He reckons pakistan's law enforcement agencies will just stand by and watch-dare you!Your tsunami this time turned out to be only water out of the gutters after a rainfall. He enjoys the luxury of the container and his palace and lets his followers suffer in the bad weather, such is his concern for his supporters.Only fools debate personalities, real politicians debate policies

    • with his tsunami's, jet black dyed hair, and anarchy wont make him a leader.Emu lost the election by ballot and wants to get in through the back door by the bullet, such is his lust for power! Pakistanis are so naive that they do not mind him being married/divorced to a woman of jewish ancestry, who gave him two half jewish/muslim children and a child out of wedlock, who he refuses to acknowledge. If this was not enough credentials for his cv, he is renowned for his love for the killer talibans. God save pakistan!

  2. Clinking glasses in one hand and rosary in another, he wants to become the leader of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, not to mention his jewish connections!

  3. The only constant in life. Is change. Iron mongers from Lahore. Your time is over. Pakistani people. Rise. Rise. Rise and rule your country.

  4. Rulers should be by the people. For the people. Chosen from among the people. I think migrant iron mongers from Lahore ( shareefs ) have lost this concept

  5. Last 60 yrs we’ve exchanged one thief for another. One dictatorship for another. IK will never steal from the public purse. Nor will he dictate his agenda.
