Pomi Butt, who was accused of leading Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers to attack Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Azadi March as it passed through Gujranwala, was released along with seven others, a private news channel reported.

Butt and his accomplices were produced before a local court where they were granted bail on surety bonds of Rs 10,000 each.

Butt, younger brother of Gujranwala MPA Imran Khalid Butt, had surrendered to the police after pressure on the PML-N leadership by PTI opposition.

He, however, had denied the accusations.
