Nisar says capital is safe

Security beefed up in Red Zone as Nisar assures full security to embassies and diplomatic staff after arrival of marches in the capital

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has assured that there was no danger to the security of embassies and high commissions as well as their staff members in the federal capital as it was the responsibility of the government to provide protection to the diplomatic staff in line with international law and police and FC were extending full security.

The minister made the comments after advisory issued by different countries to its citizens in Pakistan during his visit to the diplomatic enclave on Saturday.

The interior minister said the government had made necessary arrangements for maximum security of the diplomatic enclave and diplomats in Islamabad were fully satisfied over it.

On this occasion, the interior minister directed the police and FC to ensure security of the participants of marches and ensure peace and order.

Meanwhile on the instructions of the interior minister, additional containers have been placed in the Red Zone, Margalla Road and the constitution avenue to beef up security after the arrival of Azadi and Revolution marches in Islamabad. Rangers and FC are deployed on important government buildings.
