Pakistan’s I Day celebrated in Delhi

The 68th Independence Day was celebrated with traditional enthusiasm and national spirit at Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi.

The day started with morning prayers at the Pakistan High Commission’s mosque for the prosperity of the country and well being of the nation.

An impressive flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Chancery’s lawns. High Commissioner of Pakistan Abdul Basit raised the Pakistani flag to the tune of national anthem. Simultaneously, Pakistan High Commission’s school children recited and performed on the national anthem.

Basit congratulated the nation on the Independence Day and underscored the importance of freedom. He emphasised that we should value and respect the sacrifices made by our national heroes who devoted their lives for creating Pakistan as an independent and sovereign state. He expressed confidence in the nation saying that every Pakistani is determined to hold high the national flag.

Deputy High Commissioner Mansoor A Khan read out messages from the president and prime minister of Pakistan. A large number of officers, staff and their families and media persons attended the event.
