Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insafs’ (PTI)’s Chairman Imran Khan has no justification, either constitutional or democratic, to demand resignation of an elected prime minister.
He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is answerable only to the parliament and his own party and lauded Lahorites for demonstrating political wisdom and rejecting PTI’s ‘Azadi’ march.
The minister said that the government believes in continuity of democratic system and no one will be allowed to create an untoward situation in the country.
He said a parliamentary committee has already been constituted to bring about electoral reforms.
In an interview, the minister said that majority of the people wants stability in the country and supports the economic and development agenda of the incumbent government.
The minister said Khan should concentrate on improving the performance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government instead of indulging in politics of agitation.
