Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri on Friday said at least 40 to 50 people were martyred in by Punjab government on June 17’s Model Town Incident, adding thatthe police personnel whisked away 30 to 40 bodies, a private news channel reported.
Dr,Qadri, addressing a press conference said that later on the bodies were delivered to the bereaved families, who were pressurized by police to silently accept them, saying these people were killed in ‘roadside accidents’.
He asserted that his Inquilab March want ‘Qisas’ for those killed.
‘The Constitution entitles everyone to live peacefully but state terrorism and repression are now on their peak, where is the constitution?”, he said.
He said that his march seeks the implementation of rights for the poor and that the march’s success reflects that the nation has spurned the prevalent system.
