Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Senator Pervez Rashid alleged Monday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan is acting on the advice of a former spymaster, while dismissing Khan’s rigging allegations as “nothing but a heap of lies”.
Addressing a press conference with Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Rashid said that the former spymaster could not make Khan win the general elections 2013 but is now giving the PTI chief suggestions for stirring trouble in the state.
Alleging that the ‘Imran-Qadri Alliance’ wants anarchy in the country, the information minister said that the PTI chief is presenting twisted facts to the nation.
Rashid alleged that Khan has been taking U-turns on rigging for the last 14 months. “Why does Khan not tell the nation that the former health secretary is brother of PTI candidate from NA-120 Dr Yasmeen Rashid,” questioned Rashid.
“Khan is also not mentioning that his advisor Tariq Pervez was made the interior minister,” he added.
Rasheed accused Khan of disrespecting judiciary, parliament and Election Commission of Pakistan.
The senator said that judiciary’s staff was made district returning officers on Khan’s request. He said that former chief election commissioner Fakhruddin J Ibrahim has already shown Khan’s real face to the public.
“Why is Khan silent about Tasneem Qureshi’s Commission Report which highlights the reasons of PTI’s failure,” questioned Rasheed.
“Why can’t Khan see any rigging in Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he questioned while advising Khan to read PTI’s report on election defeat.
