Nine including NATO soldier killed in separate incidents, 45 militants surrender arms
As many as 17 including eight Taliban militants and an International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) soldier were killed in separate incidents in Afghanistan on Tuesday.
Eight Taliban militants, including five Pakistani fighters were killed and 11 others wounded during an overnight military operation in Afghanistan’s Wardak province, confirmed a statement by Wardak provincial administration released on Tuesday.
Three Afghan Taliban local commanders, Mullah Hahad, Mullah Hamdullah and Mullah Muhib were among those killed during the operation, the statement said.
Meanwhile, nine including a NATO-led ISAF soldier have been killed since Monday in Afghan conflicts as 45 Taliban militants gave up fighting and joined the government-backed peace process.
An ISAF statement confirmed the report but in line with ISAF policy, did not give any details of the victim’s nationality and the exact place of the attack.
On Tuesday, 45 Taliban militants reportedly gave up fighting and joined the government-backed peace process in the relatively peaceful northern Saripul province of Afghanistan.

Separately, the security forces also captured a militant namely Amruddin, who tried to plant a roadside bomb along a road in Wardak’s provincial capital Maidan Shar on Tuesday.
