Karachi Bar Association (KBA) President Salahuddin Ahmed has criticised Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan for giving a cold shoulder to prime minister’s offer for dialogue to resolve the issues amicably.
Talking to APP on Sunday, he said Imran Khan’s rigidity over his demands may harm democracy and disrupt economic progress. He said it was time that all the political parties focused on fight against terrorism and resolution of problems of the internally displaced persons.
Salahuddin Ahmed urged the PTI chief to adopt the path of reconciliation for the acceptance of his demands, as sit-in and long march will create problems and affect political and economic stability.
He said the legal fraternity had made great struggle and given sacrifices for the restoration of democracy in the country and it would not let democracy derail. The KBA president stressed that issues were resolved in democracy through talks but not street power.
He appealed to Imran Khan to accept the prime minister’s offer for dialogue and get his demands accepted in a democratic manner.
