It has been observed that the road between CC and DD sectors of DHA Lahore is littered with dirt being brought at night from underground basements being built in Phases 5 and 6. Since the overloaded heavy trucks move at night without covering the mound of dirt with tarpaulins, the dirt is spilled all over the road thus polluting the atmosphere when the vehicles travel over the road during the day time. It is urged on DHA authorities to prevent the plying of dirt loaded trucks without protective cover at night by providing guards at night. It is also learnt that the night guards or “chowkidars” are no longer employed by the DHA authorities at night which has resulted in a spate of thefts and attempt at dacoities in the CC sector. Perhaps the DHA authorities intend to save money spent on night guards but it has threatened the security of residents.
Same is the case about the absence of watchmen at CC park which is open 24 hours with all sorts of undesirable elements using the park at night and littering it with cigarette butts and empty bottles of soft drinks as if these were picnic grounds. The saving of expenditures on guards is letting the parks being used by unauthorised outsiders with criminal intent at night which ought to be curbed.
