- PM and Punjab CM resolve to deal with political situation administratively
- Vow to protect participants of long march, decide that those who have taken law in their hands will be firmly dealt with
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said Sunday that the government will protect democracy and foil those conspiring against it at any cost, adding that those engaging in politics of violence and confrontation are the enemies of development and prosperity.
In a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to chalk out a plan of action to deal with anti-government campaigns of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, PM Sharif vowed that the journey of development which started after the general elections will continue.
“If anybody thinks that they will oust a popular government through a protest or sit-in, they are mistaken,” Nawaz Sharif said, adding that the unity showed by political parties in the National Security Conference will eliminate terrorism from Pakistan.
Both leaders resolved to deal with the political situation administratively. They agreed that the anarchy and lawlessness will not be tolerated in the country while Operation Zarb-e-Azb is going on, adding that the law will be enforced in any case.
Earlier, Shahbaz expressed grief and anger over killing of at least three policemen amid violent clashes between Punjab Police and PAT workers.
The CM Punjab strongly condemned the violence on police by Minhajul Quran and PAT workers.
It was decided that stern action will be taken against those who took the law into their own hands while the protection of property and lives of the citizens participating in the long march will be ensured.
Why do these people think the masses are unaware of the fact that this has nothing to do with saving democracy. This is another one of their meaningless rhetoric. They are out to save their empires and monarchy
