National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting Chairperson Marvi Memon has said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has shown disrespect to the sacrifices of the Armed Forces and the IDPs by boycotting National Security Conference on Saturday.
In an interview on Saturday, she said Pakistan is in a state of war but Khan is insensitive to the situation.
She said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) secured millions of votes in last general elections and staging a million-man long march against the government will be contempt of the public vote, adding that it will which will not be allowed.
Memon said the political leadership stands united on issues while Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Tahirul Qadri stand isolated today.
She criticised Khan for supporting and shaking hands with the “Qadri’s criminal group”.
She said the “mafia gang” of Qadri is attacking and making police hostage. These criminals have no respect for the law and constitution, she added.
She said that on the demands of PTI, electoral reforms committee has been formed and the members of the party should sit there to bring the electoral reforms. Parliament, and not the streets is the right forum to address the issues, she said.
