LAHORE-
Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Saturday issued directives to his party workers to observe Youm-e-Shuhda on August 10 in their own areas in light of the ongoing police crackdown, a private news channel reported.
“Stay where you are, observe Youm-e-Shohada right there, don’t shed more blood”, he directed his activists.
Speaking to media representatives in Lahore, Qadri alleged that PAT workers were being politically victimised and were forcefully restricted in their movement in the city in order to stop the Youm-e-Shuhda to be observed tomorrow.
The PAT chief also alleged that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had issued orders to police to open ‘direct fire’ on PAT workers.
Qadri claimed that seven PAT activists have been ‘martyred’ while hundreds have been injured and were stopped from being taken to hospitals for medical treatment.
