  • Says does not have time to meet PM Sharif before Aug 14

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Friday vowed that he will not postpone his million-man march and subsequent sit-in at Islamabad on August 14 unless Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif accepts his demands, adding that the government’s high-handedness would be to blame if the army steps in.

Speaking at a press conference, Khan said, “All our demands are according to the constitution. We have been running from pillar to post to get justice but nobody paid heed. Now we have no option left but to take to the streets to protest.”

He added that irrespective of threats to his life, he would go ahead with the ‘Azadi’ march, adding that his party has the right to protest peacefully and warned that if the government tried to stop the peaceful march, violence would erupt.

PTI WANTS ELECTORAL REFORMS:

He said August 14 would see a war between two ideologies — between monarchy and the will of the people.

“Our aim is to reform Pakistan’s electoral system,” the PTI chief said, adding that on August 14 his party would present a list of demands before the government.

He said he would also demand action against those involved in rigging during last year’s elections. “Whoever was involved in the election rigging must be punished. On Monday, I will unveil names of all those involved in the vote fraud.”

PUNJAB GOVT’S POLICIES WILL INVITE BOOTS:

“If there is any military intervention in the country, it will be due to the policies of the Punjab government,” Khan opined, adding that Pakistan is heading towards anarchy.

The PTI chief flayed the Punjab government for using Punjab police in a brutal crackdown in Lahore against Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Tehreek Minhajul Quran (TMQ) workers.

Khan said the Punjab government had turned the police force into “Gullu Butts”, adding that if the Punjab government did not mend its ways, the army would indeed take over.

KHAN HIGHLIGHTS ‘FRAUDS’ OF GOVT:

The PTI chief issued a white paper against the one-year performance of the federal government and termed the Metro bus project as the biggest fraud being carried out by the federal government.

Alleging that government leaders are involved in nepotism, Khan said the PM’s son owns property in the United Kingdom worth billions of rupees.

He also questioned the economic performance of the federal government over the past one year. “The economic growth of the current government is worse than the Pakistan People’s Party-led government,” he said.

Khan said that Nawaz Sharif is facing 30 cases in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) but none of those cases are being heard, adding that Sharif has spent Rs 680 million on 14 foreign visits in just one year.

He urged political parties not to play on both sides of the wicket, pledging that all his demands would be in line with the law and constitution.

When asked whether he is likely to meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ahead of the ‘Azadi’ march, Khan said he had no time to meet the PM before August 14 as he (Khan) is busy meeting party leaders ahead of the march.

  1. CALLING ALL PAKISTANIS .. IMRANKHAN QUADRI ARE TRAITORS -STOP THEM !!!! FIRANGIGULAMS NIGHCLUBS DARBAAN NEVER BE
WAZIR E AZAM PAKISTAN – ALLAH SE DUA KAREIN ..

  2. The paid cahoots of Imran Khan are trying to create a false impression that Pakistan Army is behind the #WrongMarch ignoring the basic realities:

1.How can Pak Army support a person who has recently accused it of fighting for US$ in North Waziristan Agency (NWA)?

2.Imran Khan has always been dubbed as Taliban Khan in Pakistan. He has been speaking (and behaving) their language in this country.

3.Imran Khan is the only politician (if he considers himself so) to have offered TTP an Office in Pakistan. Whereas the Government of Pakistan has proscribed TTP.

4.When the Negotiations Committee was being formed, on the insistence of Imran Khan, the Taliban nominated Imran Khan as their true representative.

5.Imran Khan has been opposing drone attacks particularly when the key Taliban commanders like Naik Muhammad, BaitUllah Mehsud, HakeemUllah Mehsud etc have been killed by the drones. The last of TTP supremo HakeemUllah Mehsud had blatantly claimed the assassination of Major General SanaUllah Niazi of Pak Army.

Imran Khan is only a political face of Taliban and promotes their ideology to challenge the writ of the state.

  3. You have placed the pic of a confirmed CHEAT called Saad Rafique. The man entered Polling Stations in disguise and ensured rigging. His photos are available but not for those who do not wish to see like Election Tribunal and PML N.

  4. Pakistani politicians and people have low IQ, Pakistan came out of a brutal army dictatorship and got a young democracy, now let the democracy function whether it is good or bad, because democracy brings progress and rolls of law, dictatorship destroys people and progress- stop protesting in streets, go to parliament and debate there. do work in the province where you have been elected. let the democracy prevail to stop dictatorship. let It work gradually.
