7 kg heroin seized at BB Airport, 40 suspects held

Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) on Wednesday foiled drugs smuggling bid by seizing heroin and arresting an accused at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad on Wednesday while the twin cities police rounded up around 40 suspects from the city.

According to ANF sources, a passenger was going to board on PIA flight PK 785 for leaving London, upon search ANF seized seven kilogrammes of high quality heroin from his possession. The ANF sources said that the cost of the heroin in international market is millions of dollars. The accused was shifted to undisclosed place for investigation.

40 SUSPECTS HELD:

Separately, according to reports, Rawalpindi and Islamabad Police have held search operations in different areas and 36 suspicious people were arrested from suburban areas of Bhara Kahu while four others have been detained from Habib Colony West Ridge area of Rawalpindi.

According to police, majority of foreigners are included among detainees .A gun, 30 bullets and 125 grams of heroin have also recovered from their possession. All 40 suspects have been shifted to undisclosed place for further investigations.
