Bomb explodes outside cable operator’s office

A low-intensity bomb exploded outside the office of a cable operator located in Quaidabad area of the metropolis early on Wednesday, partially damaging the office and triggering tension in the area.

According to police, the incident took place when the bomb placed in a metal box exploded outside the office of a cable operator in F-2 area of Quaidabad, but no casualty was reported.

Police said an improvised explosive device (IED) was used in the blast that carried 50 grammes of explosive material. The blast broke smashed the office’s window panes.

Police said that they have received no information about any threatening calls or demands for extortion and that the explosion was carried only to spark fear.
