The Supreme Court (SC) has issued notices to the parties concerned on an appeal plea filed by the federal government against Islamabad High Court (IHC) decision on nullification of appointment of Pervez Rathore as acting PEMRA chairman.
A two-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Nasir ul Mulk and comprising Justice Amir Hani Muslim took up the case for hearing Monday.
Federation law officer took the plea during the course of hearing that appointment of Pervez Rathore as acting chairman PEMRA was made as per law. IHC had declared his appointment void without ascertaining his stance fully, he added. All the legal requirements were also not met in this connection, he argued.
The court while conducing preliminary hearing of the case issued notices to the parties concerned and adjourned the hearing till Thursday.
