PTI’s ‘back door’ is closed!

*Mehmoodur Rasheed terms reports of back door diplomacy as govt’s disinformation to weaken ‘Azadi March’

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed has termed the reports of back door diplomacy of the PTI with the incumbent government as part of disinformation campaign aimed to weaken the Azadi March.

Talking to journalists after chairing a meeting held at PTI’s Lahore public secretariat on Saturday regarding arrangements for Azadi March, Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed said that the PTI chairman has always played on front foot and his politics was based on front door. Back channel diplomacy and secret deals were the traditions followed by former politicians, he added.

He said that activists and office bearers of the PTI were standing at the back of their party chairman and whatever the decision was taken by Imran Khan, entire party will follow it.

The opposition leader alleged that state machinery was given task to foil the Azadi March and ruling elite class was using all tactics in this regard as the Punjab government cancelled Eid holidays of district officers for the purpose.

He urged the workers and office bearers of the PTI to turn deaf ears towards the rumours of secret deals and continue preparations for Azadi March with full commitment.

Rasheed said that now dialogue will be held at D-Chowk of Islamabad and rulers having fake mandate could not terrify the masses by threats of cases and jails.

The opposition leader claimed that entire nation wanted to get rid of government having fake mandate.

August 14, Azadi March will be historic when one million people will unite to raise voice against rigging in polls, for their democratic and constitutional rights under the leadership of Imran Khan, he maintained.
