In sickness and in health, Shahbaz is with IDPs

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that helping internally displaced persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan Agency (NWA) was a national and religious obligation.

While talking to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) assembly members and office bearers in Murree Saturday, the chief minister said that the Punjab government had distributed financial assistance of millions of rupees among migrated families whereas the process of distribution of financial assistance among 54 thousand affected families was being restarted soon.

Shahbaz said that on his appeal, philanthropists were donating generously in the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund set up for IDPs. He said that government was distributing donations among displaced families in a transparent manner.

The Punjab chief minister said that his government and people were providing all possible help to their brothers and sisters in distress.

“We will not rest content till complete rehabilitation of affected families. The Punjab government will construct 2,000 houses, a modern hospital, university and Daanish school in North Waziristan after establishment of peace and end of war against terrorism.”

The chief minister said that a mobile hospital has also been sent from Punjab for providing treatment to the affected families while besides financial assistance and relief items, the Punjab government had also dispatched fodder for the livestock of IDPs.Shahbaz said that the Punjab government will not leave alone affected families of North Waziristan in this hour of trial. He said that displaced families were facing difficulties for peace in Pakistan. He said that helping affected families, rendering sacrifices for the peace and stability of motherland was duty of every Pakistani. He said that the spirit of those helping their brethren in this hour of trial was commendable and they were earning the blessings of Allah Almighty.
