Facing the tsunami of regret

At a time when Zarb-e-Azb had left PTI powerless and forced it to let go of their long-time stance against drone attacks, and the war on terror, they decide to destabilise democracy by the so-called Azadi March. Those who truly believe in democracy and are present in the parliament should have the guts and patience to abide by what they believe in. Legislate your way out, impeach the government, pass those ‘powerful’ bills, and invent new laws; that’s what democracy dictates, right?

It is quite ironic when a provincial government loses focus on the present and instead chooses to live in the past and wage a ‘long march’. Rigging is nothing new, Imran Khan promised us that there won’t be any rigging based on his ‘comprehensive’ Tabdeeli Razakar programme, the ‘free and fair’ judiciary and the ‘ever so bold’ media even when people asked him to boycott the elections if things weren’t being done right. The plan failed terribly, and now is the time to contradict and cry over that failure? PTI played the match knowing and accepting the umpire, now is the time to accept the consequences. The only responsible plan is to bring change in KP and use the Parliament if the idea is to maintain democracy, otherwise follow a new path and call for real change.
