Two more polio cases, national tally reaches 104

    The national count for polio cases reached 104 with two new cases confirmed on Saturday.

    The cases were confirmed by National Institute of Health, Islamabad. One of the children tested positive for polio virus, an eight-month-old girl named Hafsa is a resident of Bara, sub-division of Khyber Agency while one-year-old Salma is from Peshawar.

    Pakistan has crossed last year’s tally of 93 polio cases in 2014, reporting Pakistan has recorded highest number of polio cases among the three endemic countries including Afghanistan and Nigeria.
