Govt in touch with Imran, Qadri: Saad Rafique

LAHORE-

The government is in contact with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leadership to convince them against their anti-governemnt campaigns, according to Railways Minister Saad Rafique.

Rafique was addressing a gathering at Allama Iqbal’s mausoleum in Lahore in connection with Independence Day celebrations on Friday.

“We are ready to talk and have been in contact with Imran Khan and Dr. Tahirul Qadri to address their concerns”, he said while adding that Khan should choose to find resolution to the political issues through negotiations instead of through sit-in as, he said, “We are in state war so we must refrain from confrontation.”

“If he supports negotiations with Taliban why can’t he talk to the government,” asked the federal minister.

PTI chief Imran Khan has announced to hold a massive rally in Islamabad on 14th August in protest for massive poll rigging in May 2013 general elections.
