Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz has said political challenges would start “evaporating from middle of August” and democracy would strengthen.
Participating in a programme of a private television channel, the information minister expressed confidence that economy would improve further, electricity generation increase and political system strengthen during the next one year.
The minister said Pakistan’s economy has improved at macro level during the last one year and this has been acknowledged by the multilateral institutions as well. He was confident that effects of the macro level improvement would trickle down to micro level. He pointed out that exchange rate was stable and there was now even demand from exporters that the present rate was hurting exports.
To a question he said prices would stabilize during the next one year.
To another question, the information minister said there was unity among democratic forces. He said all political parties, while sticking to their policies and point of view, wanted to strengthen the democratic system. He acknowledged that there might be drawbacks in governance and the government was receptive to criticism and constructive proposals.
About war on terror, he said there were no good or bad Taliban and operation was being launched against all kinds of terrorists without any discrimination.
