A policeman was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Korangi area on Thursday.
According to police, the incident took place near Chamra Chowrangi in Korangi area where unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle targeted the policeman and opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.
Police sources further told that the deceased policeman was deployed in special branch.
In another incident, unidentified gunmen opened fire at a restaurant on late Wednesday night, injuring four people including a woman. Sources said that the incident took place in Defence Phase 2 area of the city.
The injured were taken to The Jinnah Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, five people were injured in two explosions across Karachi on Wednesday evening.
According to Police, four people were wounded when explosive device, planted inside a vehicle, went off outside a cinema at Nazimabad No 2 area. Evidences of ball bearings were found. Nearby vehicles were also damaged in the blast.
The wounded, being declared suspects, were taken into custody at AbbasiShaheedHospital.
On the other hand, one person was injured in a cracker attack outside a cinema house at MA Jinnah Road. He was shifted to a hospital for first aid treatment.
TWO GUNNED DOWN IN SUKKUR:
In the meanwhile, unidentified armed men shot dead two people and injured another in Regent Colony area of Sukkur on Thursday. The police said that the armed motorcyclists fled the scene after the armed attack. The bodies and the injured were taken to a nearby hospital.
