Opp leader lauds govt’s expenditure on health services

National Assembly Opposition Leader Khursheed Shah said on Friday that the government is utilising millions of rupees for the provision of modern and quality health services to the masses.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of emergency ward and up-gradation of Ghulam Muhamad Mahar Medical College Hospital (GMMMCH).

DC Sukkur Shahzad Tahir Thaheem, District Health Officer (DHO) Sukkur Dr Mehmood Qureshi and others were also present on the occasion.

He said that new operation theatres have been set up in the emergency ward besides arrangements have been made for the computerisation of the record of the emergency ward.

Shah said that timely medical assistance to patients in the emergency wards helps in their recovery, therefore, Sindh government is upgrading emergency wards on priority basis.

He directed the administration to evolve a separate system for the monitoring of emergencies.

Doctors should also pay attention to the treatment of the ailing humanity and behave politely with the patients, he added.

Earlier, the Opposition Leader visited various sections of the hospital and was briefed by DC Sukkur.

He also inquired about the well being of patients in the emergency ward and inspected health service, medicines and other facilities.

He said that philanthropists serving the ailing humanity are selflessly engaged in providing treatment facilities to the deprived segments of the society and they are held in great respect and esteem.
