King Abdullah assures PM Sharif of KSA’s perpetual support for Pakistan
King Abdullah has told Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that Saudi Arabia would always stand by Pakistan, while underlining that the close bond between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia dates back to the days of Pakistan’s founding leader Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The Saudi king warmly received the PM and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar at his Jeddah palace Friday. The entire senior Saudi leadership and key aides of the Saudi king, including Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Crown Prince and Second Deputy Prime Minister Prince Muqran bin Abdul Aziz, National Security Council Secretary General Prince Bandar bin Sultan, Intelligence Chief Prince Khalid bin Bandar, National Guards Minister Prince Mitab bin Abdullah and Deputy Foreign Minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah were present during the hour-long meeting held between the two leaders.
The king conveyed his personal sentiments and prayers for a strong, prosperous and peaceful Pakistan under the leadership of “his brother” PM Sharif, assuring that Saudi Arabia would always stand by Pakistan.
The PM expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him during his visit to Saudi Arabia. He highlighted the special nature of brotherly ties between the two countries and emphasised that his government attached great importance to further strengthening these ties.
The two leaders also discussed the challenges being faced by the Islamic ummah and called for unity and solidarity in these critical times.
