Raiwand operation: LEAs claim arrest of mastermind

The law enforcement agencies said on Thursday that the alleged mastermind of Raiwand operation had been arrested along with 18 other suspected terrorists.

Security forces conducted operations in Okara, DG Khan, Lahore, Islamabad, Lahore and Rahim Yar Khan and claimed to have detained suspects linked to the attack. Two of the suspects arrested were women.

The alleged mastermind of Raiwand attack, identified as Molvi Ishaq, was arrested from Hujra Shah Muqeem in Okara district after the security forces raided the area.

Ishaq has been taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

Meanwhile, owner of motor bikes which were impounded during Raiwand operation has been traced out; motor bikes were registered on the name of Hafiz Imran resident of Allaabad. These bikes were under the use of terrorists.

Yesterday the police conducted raid at Hafiz Imran’s residence, however, Hafiz Imran and his family had fled away and his house was locked.

Earlier on July 17, two suspected terrorists and an official of an intelligence agency were killed and four others, including a military officer, injured during a 10-hour operation after security forces raided a house near Raiwind Road.
