Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that the protest rally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on August 14 at D-Chowk in Islamabad under the leadership of party chairman Imran Khan was not for harming the democracy but for strengthening democratic norms, checking rigging in polls and bringing reforms in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) whose purpose is to abolish the chances of rigging in elections for good in future.

While taking to a joint delegation of District Bar and Press Club of Nowshera, the KP CM said that PTI wanted transparent elections in the country to provide honest leadership to the masses.

Khattak further said that Accountability Commission (EC) has been okayed and process for the establishment of commission and appointment of officials was in progress. He said that in next couple of weeks an independent and autonomous EC will formally start work.
