When rain soaked capital in holy fervour

Rain provided relief to the citizens of twin cities from severe hot and humid weather, giving them an opportunity to complete Eid shopping.

The pleasant weather enabled more people to visit mosques and offer prayers with religious zeal and concentration.

Majority of the people, restricted in homes due to hot and humid weather, thronged to the shopping malls to buy Eid accessories and give final touch to their preparations, taking advantage of the pleasant weather.

Nadia Hussain, a housewife, said, “It was difficult to do shopping in hot and humid weather especially during fasting but now rain has changed the mood.”

“We would try to complete our Eid shopping during the predicted rainy days,” she said.

Saleem Awan, a government employee said, “We were anxiously waiting for rain from the last many days and now the rain during Ramazan days has proved as blessing for us and we can complete shopping.”

“We have also planned to go outside for Iftar during coming days as we were earlier bound to stay at home to avoid hot weather during fasting,” he said.
