THARPARKAR

Diseases caused due to malnutrition continued to claim more lives in as three children including two minors and a five-year-old girl died in Tharparkar after which toll for July has climbed to 26.

Situation in drought-hit Tharparker is again turning ugly as three including five-year-old girl, two few weeks old children died in Civil Hospital Mithi on Wednesday.

The region is again facing the situation it faced before and the 68 doctors hired by Sindh government have still not received salary.

Despite the fact that provincial government has declared emergency in all the hospitals of the region, doctors are discharging minors without proper care and sometimes within a day declaring them ‘fit’ or shifting them to Hyderabad.

Local sources said that the situation can turn worse if not taken care of. It must be remembered that the region faced a drought a few months earlier killing a number of children and forcing scores to flee.
